SpecTracker – Full Setup & User Guide
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
- Your SpecTracker device
- Charger
- Silicone attachments (multiple sizes)
- 3M adhesive strip
- A smartphone with Bluetooth
1. Charging Your SpecTracker
Before first use, charge your device for at least 1 hour.
Tip: After attaching the tracker to your glasses, you can charge it without removing it from the frame.
How to charge:
- Plug the charger into a USB port (wall adapter, computer, or power bank).
- Clip the SpecTracker into the charger securely.
LED Indicators:
- Flashing Red – Charger is connected to power
- Solid Red – SpecTracker is charging
- LED Off – Fully charged
Tip: If no light appears, check the USB power source or reposition the device in the charger.
2. Downloading the App
SpecTracker uses a third-party app to function.
Make sure Bluetooth permissions are enabled when installing the app.
3. Pairing Your SpecTracker
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Keep SpecTracker within 1–2 metres of your phone.
- Open your phone's Bluetooth settings.
- Tap "Pair New Device".
- Select "iTrack" from the list.
- Once connected, open the app to complete setup.
- Allow all necessary permissions when prompted.
4. Attaching SpecTracker to Your Glasses
Step 1: Choose the Right Silicone Attachment
- Try the different sizes included.
- Select one that fits snugly on the arm of your glasses.
- It should feel secure but not overly tight.
Step 2: Fit the Silicone Holder
- Slide the silicone attachment onto the arm (temple) of your glasses.
- The fit should be firm and not slide easily.
Step 3: Insert the Tracker
- Slide the tracker into the silicone holder.
- Check for comfort.
Tip: Try mounting the tracker on the inside of the arm for a more discreet look.
Step 4: Extra Security with 3M Tape (Optional)
For a more permanent solution, you can use the included 3M adhesive tape (still removable when needed):
- Clean the surface of the glasses arm (dry and dust-free).
- Remove the protective film from one side of the 3M adhesive strip.
- Press it firmly onto the glasses arm.
- Remove the protective film from the other side.
- Press the tracker firmly onto the 3M tape.
Tip: Hold pressure for 10–15 seconds for best adhesion. Let it sit for a few minutes before use.
Final Check:
- Gently move the tracker to ensure it doesn't slide.
- Put your glasses on to confirm comfort.
5. Using SpecTracker
To find your glasses:
- Open the iTrack app.
- Select your SpecTracker device.
- Tap "Ring".
- Follow the sound to locate your glasses.
Tip: Extra settings can be found by selecting the device from the list and swiping right.
- Last Known Location: Tap the location icon in the app.
Troubleshooting
Device not turning on
- Charge for at least 1 hour
- Check the charger connection
- Try a different USB power source
Not appearing in Bluetooth
- Ensure Bluetooth is turned ON
- Keep the device close (within 1–2 metres)
- Turn Bluetooth off and on again
- Restart your phone
Won't connect or keeps disconnecting
- Remove "iTrack" from your Bluetooth list
- Re-pair the device
- Ensure it's not connected to another phone
No sound when using "Ring"
- Check the device is connected
- Ensure the battery is charged
- Move closer to the device
- Reconnect if needed
Weak signal / trouble locating
- Bluetooth range is limited (~10–15 metres indoors)
- Walls and furniture can reduce signal strength
- Move around slowly while using the "Ring" feature
Tracker feels loose or moves
- Try a different silicone size
- Reapply or use the 3M adhesive
- Ensure the surface is clean before applying tape
Tips for Best Performance
- Keep your device charged regularly
- Ensure it is securely attached
- Use the app as soon as you misplace your glasses
- Avoid exposing the device to excessive moisture
